Wanderlust Wednesday [2]

 

This is a weekly feature started by the every amazing Carla from The Crooked Shelf (go follow her now because she is amazeballs FACT) and each week I’ll post about a place or location that I’d love to go and visit for a holiday, a day, an hour or a lifetime.  These are all my own thoughts about the places so may not always be PERFECTLY accurate to how the places actually are but that’s part of why I’d want to go to these places: to see them all for myself.

Paris, France

I feel a bit bad about this but I’ve never been to Paris and it’s not even that far away.  It’s only one short journey away from central London which isn’t that far to be honest.  I love the idea of Paris and I think that makes me a bit hesitant to visit because ....what if it’s not as amazing as I think it’ll be.  My boss even has friends that live there that have said several times to her and me personally that if I ever go there that she’ll show me around and would basically be a tour guide but yet I still haven’t been.

The romance and wonder that I imagine exists within my imagination of what Paris is like will probably never live up to the real Paris; probably in the same way in which London appears to any non-Londoner.  I think that my dream Paris day would be tasting pastries, bread and chocolates, looking at art galleries and then going to some pretty Paris flea market to seek out little gems and second hand novels.  Stopping on the way home to some little boutiques and then I’d be spent (well my money would be spent by then for sure)
