I’ve been at my new job for about a month now and I’m really finding my feet with it. Major perk of working in fashion retail is I get the clothes either free as uniform or at a discount as part of the benefits. I’m only doing part-time hours though so I’m having to really budget hard and find other ways of making money too. I keep thinking of starting an Etsy store but I’m not sure how well it would work for me trying to sell things and balance it with the demands of work etc.
I’m tentatively getting back into jewellery making which I did a bit of some time ago and seeing if I think they are a good enough standard to sell them. It’s so hard to know exactly what to do and how it’ll work. If you guys have thoughts and tips I’d love to hear them. If only the blog could make me any money then I’d have it in the bag. However, as we all know too well, blogs rarely make anything. Book blogs at least. It’s such a weird thing that, from what i understand, most other genre of blogs have some sort of monetary value to businesses and yet book blogs are the weird relative at the party that no one wants to be sat next to.
With the approach of Christmas I’m doing my best to be money-wise and even make gifts if I can. I just hope friends and family like this and understand that I’m not a big earner. Who knew that working so hard at getting that degree that I’d still be on an up-hill climb and working in retail. It has nice moments but everyone else I know seem to be doing better than me and I can’t quite work out why.
So I plowing onwards as ever.
Oh, and keeping on working on that WIP … or two. SIGHHHHHH!
FYI: If anyone wants to pay for stuff on the blog, I’m open to ideas and queries 🙂
